The meeting will begin on Sunday morning, October 2 and finish on Friday, October 7 with a noon luncheon. Oral and poster presentations are planned as are field trips to chestnut forests and historical venues.
The topics will focus on the fields of chestnut breeding, biotechnology and genetic resources; physiology and ecology; growing technologies; fruit quality, post-harvest and processing; pest and disease management; production economics and management.
The Wow Topkapi Palace will be the site of the 2016 Sixth International Chestnut Symposium. This world-class conference facility is located in Antalya, about 20 km to Antalya airport.
Oral and poster presentations are planned as are field trips to chestnut forests and historical venues. Activities are planned for spouses including a day trip to Antalya.
The official language of the symposium will be English.
The deadline for abstract submission is May 15, 2016. Book of abstracts will be published before the symposium. Final decision for acceptance and selection of abstracts for oral or poster presentations will be made by the Scientific Committee until July 1, 2016.
Abstract must be submitted in English. It should consists of a title, list of authors and their affiliations, e-mail address of corresponding author, text of abstract and key words. Use Times New Roman font. Titles should be in 14 point and the rest of the text in 12 point. Type the title of the abstract in bold, uppercase, center alignment. Full names of authors (surname and name) and affiliations should be typed in normal font, center alignment. Designate the name of the corresponding author with the asterisk .The abstract should be in one paragraph, single line spaced, justified. Abstract must not exceed maximum of 300 words. The abstract should include the following parts: objective of the study, methodology, results and conclusion. Authors should indicate preferred session and type of presentation (oral or poster).
